My Story (the short version) - Corey McCool

  • Father of 2 incredible teens. Both are very much LIKE me, AND also very unique and stronger in so many ways. On days when I need a reason, they're it.

  • Autistic. I was "gifted" before Autistic, giving me time to self-diagnose and mask until my 40s. I'm done hiding, but movement has always been my self-regulation secret weapon.

  • ADHD. At 41, a spinal issue left me near-paralyzed. Surgery and titanium hardware fixed it, but the shock to my nervous system left all of my adaptations useless. It's been like drinking from the sensory fire hose since. This led to my professional Autism diagnosis, along with a surprise ... I have ADHD.

  • 3 Degrees including Bachelor's in Exercise & Sport Science. Also an engineering degree from the Air Force, and an MBA.

  • Strength & Conditioning Coach. For individuals and teams at the high school, college, and pro levels. Owned and operated a facility in Northern CO.

  • So many certifications. Some current some not, including:

  • National Strength & Conditioning Association: Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)

  • National Strength & Conditioning Association: Tactical Strength & Conditioning Facilitator (TSAC-F)

  • International Society of Sports Nutrition: Certified Sports Nutritionist

  • USA Weightlifting: Level 1 Coach Certification

  • TRX: Suspension Trainer Certification

  • Spinning: Certified Spin Instructor

  • Veteran of the US Air Force: I joined shortly after 9/11 and spent 4 years of active duty as an Electrical Power Production Journeyman. Honorably discharged.

  • Lucky SOB: At 3 different times in my life, I've survived medical challenges that, had it been almost any other time in history, would have meant certain death. I've faced down what I was certain would be a lifetime in a wheelchair, only to make a full recovery and regain all of my movement. I'll never again take the ability to move for granted.

  • I live in beautiful Colorado: In my humble opinion, one of the most amazing places on earth.

  • Do right. Be honest. And just keep moving!
